From 100 to 4000+ followers

It’s time to reflect!

I joined Medium to find fellow humans that can relate to me. I started off writing my first story “I’m a girl, just not girly’’ for my audience, which was less than 20 people at the time :) and it felt good putting my work out there.

However, learning about the Partner Program changed the game for me. My next focus was getting 100 followers of course!

But what I did not expect to happen is how my follower count would keep snowballing each day, even after I passed that milestone!

The story I hit 100 followers in 3 days based on my experience in getting 100 followers got quite a bit of traction than I expected.

And ever since that day, my follower count kept growing daily and I could not be more grateful. And it helped me push myself back up each time I felt like I’m slowly losing my spark.

One of my favourite moments of the day is going through Medium notifications on my phone and tapping on the + icon in front of each new follower :)

What worked for me really?

I believe it was the organic connections I created by following the steps I took in I hit 100 followers in 3 days and finally writing the article.

And I would definitely recommend you this approach if you want to keep enhancing your base. Why, you ask?

Because,

1. Connecting with fellow writers and supporting their work plays a crucial part in letting your presence known. Medium is an amazing place to network with the best writers, poets, bloggers out there and it’s beautiful how supporting each other’s work could benefit everyone!
2. Writing about hot topics such as ‘100 followers’, ‘partner program’, ‘Medium earnings’ could definitely help your article get a lot of views and traction since they are few of the topics most fellow writers would be interested in. But don’t limit your story to just another catchy topic! You have to make sure that its content serves a purpose. After all, that’s how you create anticipation that good things will keep coming :)

So there you have it. That’s how everything started!
