I Paid for Bumble So You Don’t Have To

Here’s the Verdict, So Buckle up

I had this burning urge to swipe for the longest time. Why? Because everyone made it seem like a game! And guess what? It is! Dating apps are literally designed with the same psychological tricks as mobile games to keep us hooked. No surprises there.

But here’s the thing. I was in a relationship from 2018 until last year. So the moment I found myself single, you know what I did.

Yep, I finally downloaded Bumble!

Why Bumble and not Tinder or Hinge? Well, somewhere along the way, I got sold on the idea that Bumble was the safer option, because women get to make the first move. And something about it being catfish-proof (spoiler alert, not entirely true).

Now, my millennial self was not ready to trust an app to find me love so I had zero expectations going in. I was just in it for the experience, the flirting, connecting with good conversation and potential casual “hangouts” (wink wink). So I gave myself a month!

And what other way to unlock all features than to get premium right? So reluctantly but hoping to get all my money back through the “experience”, I spent 25 USD that day for one month of Bumble premium (that’s more than 8 mochas I gave up that day).
